Recap
- The train always has priority. Only enter if you are certain you can cross completely.
- Outside built-up areas: 3 markers at 150 m, 100 m and 50 m. In town: first marker at 50 m (optional).
- Automatic half-barriers: stop at the red light, set off only when everything is fully raised and the light is off.
- Crossings without barriers: always check for the absence of a train, especially if there are several tracks.
- In the event of a breakdown on the tracks: evacuate first, then alert via the level crossing phone.
- The barriers can be broken by pushing them if imminent danger requires it.
- Penalties: 135 euro fine, 4 points deducted, possible suspension of up to 3 years.
