- Emergency numbers: 15 (SAMU), 18 (fire brigade), 112 (European), 114 (text), 17 (police).
- Any phone, even locked or without a SIM card, can be used to call the emergency services.
- Emergency call points are located every 2 km on motorways and automatically transmit the position.
- Information to give: identity, number, nature of the accident, precise location, number of victims, their condition.
- Never hang up before the operator gives permission.
- The eCall system, compulsory on new vehicles since 2018, automatically calls 112 in the event of a violent collision.
- When in doubt about which number to call, dial 112.
- On a motorway, specify the motorway number, direction of travel and kilometre marker.
