- Tunnel entry sign (compulsory if over 300 m): dipped headlights, no U-turns, no stopping.
- Dazzle at the entrance and exit can last 5 seconds: slow down.
- Maintain safety distances (2 blue markers). Repeat offence = criminal offence.
- Listen to radio 107.7 for real-time safety instructions.
- Safety niches = telephone + extinguishers, but no protection against smoke.
- In the event of a fire: do not overtake the burning vehicle, leave the keys, evacuate via the emergency exits.
- Never make a U-turn or reverse in a tunnel, even in an emergency.
- In the event of a traffic jam in a tunnel: hazard lights, safety distances, engine off when stopped.
